CULTCUTS
REBORN!
Well, actually we never went away. Always working in the
dark and less in the limelight these last two years. Many
great supporters and readers emailing asking us if we would
be back with another update and back to our weekly news
updates, etc. Well, that time is now! September 22nd and
our site has been reborn back into cult life.
For those who have been and are curious why the site hiatus,
it is very simple and I'll keep in relatively short. On
January 18th of 2008 (over 18 months ago), Cultcuts' Web
mistress and my lovely wife stopped breathing due to viral
pneumonia. She was dead for over 20 minutes. Fortunately,
several key paramedics got a pulse going again and she was
rushed to the nearby hospital where she remained in a coma
for close to three months. After three surgeries, two procedures
and one night where her temp reached 108.9 degrees (she
broke records folks!), some of the doctors were ready to
throw in the towel. Myself and her key physician fought
to keep things going and not lose hope. After one tough
afternoon with lawyers and one awful brain specialist, we
refused to unplug her despite warnings that she would never
wake up or if she did, should would be nothing more than
a brainstem. Three days after my refusal to sign away her
life, she woke up. Memory and brain intact. She is currently
learning to walk again, which will take up to another two
years, but she's obviously a tough and stubborn woman!
15 Months later, after a very long road of mental and physical
therapy, she came home and demanding to get back to work!
Thanks to support from our staff: Craig Hamann, Heather
Drain, Douglas Waltz and especially my business partner
and fellow managing editor/writer Michael Mackie and his
wife, we've been able to prevail and pick up the pieces
of our lives that were once so on hold and get back to living
forever changed, hopefully a little wiser and humbled due
to the experience.
Like I said at the top of this newsletter, we've still been
around. Receiving screeners, talking to folks inside the
industry and getting a lot of life encouragement from friends,
family and you, our supporters. We have lots of reviews
to put up and we thank everyone for their patience and sticking
with us, so let's get with our first set of reviews in almost
two years...
